The contract regarding ski school services is concluded between the customer and Serena Ski School, and it concerns the customer’s participation in the courses or private lessons offered by the ski school (hereinafter courses/lessons are referred to as ‘lessons’) as well as possible additional services, for example equipment rental.
The contract enters into force when the customer books and pays the lesson booking fee.
The responsible organizer of Serena Ski School is AB BMCM Special Services OY (business ID number 2464826-6). However, the customer makes the reservation and makes the payment through the online services or the cash system of Puuharyhmä Oyj (business ID number 0564528-9), which is responsible for Serena Ski’s slope operations.
The customer agrees to follow Serena Ski’s slope rules.
Otherwise, what is not specifically stated in these ski school contract conditions, the contract conditions for ski school services agreed between the Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) and the Finnish Consumer Ombudsman are followed, which also contain more detailed cancellation conditions for ski school services. In the event of any disputes, these terms and conditions of the contract are followed primarily, and FSAA’s terms of contract are followed secondarily.
Booking and payment terms
Lessons can be booked through Serena’s official online store and on-site at the ski school’s service point located in the equipment rental office.
Lessons must be paid at the time of registration, excluding those companies, associations or public sector organizations with which invoicing has been separately agreed upon in advance.
If the payment is not made by the deadline, the ski school has the right to cancel the reservation.
All prices include value added tax (VAT), unless otherwise stated.
Registration and participation
The participant must arrive in sufficient time so that he is at the agreed starting place of the lesson with his equipment ready. If the student needs rental equipment, the recommended arrival time is 30 minutes before the lesson starts. Students who are late may not necessarily be included in the lesson.
Participants must be properly equipped and must always wear a helmet. Correcting any equipment deficiencies caused by the participant can reduce the available lesson time.
Cancellation terms and changes
All change and cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the ski school’s official email.
In accordance with FSAA’s contract terms, the cancellation must be made no later than 14 days before the start of the lesson, in which case the customer will be refunded the reservation fee in full. After this, the already purchased ski school service cannot be exchanged, changed or canceled without a cancellation fee, except in cases of illness against a medical certificate. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the lesson will be charged a cancellation fee according to FSAA’s contract conditions. The cancellation fee applies to the entire ski school service (the lesson and possible equipment rental).
If the customer wants to change the date/time of the lesson less than 14 days before it starts, the Ski School may change the time at the customer’s request, if it is possible taking into account the availability of teachers and other resources. The ski school can, however, refuse to change the date/time if the aforementioned change of the need of resources is not possible or if the change would lead to the possible minimum or maximum number of participants for the lesson being under/exceeded. An office fee of €25 will be charged for changes made less than 14 days before the start of the lesson.
If the minimum required number of students announced in advance of the lesson is not met, the Ski School proposes to the customer to change the lesson to a new time.
The ski school has no weather restrictions due to snow, rain or other weather phenomena, and the customer is not entitled to free cancellation due to unpleasant weather conditions.
However, the lesson can be canceled or postponed by the ski school if the ski school determines that the weather conditions are too dangerous (e.g. exceptionally strong wind). The ski school will notify you of possible cancellations or changes by text message, call or email as soon as possible. If the lesson has to be canceled due to weather conditions or other force majeure, the ski school will try to offer an alternative time.
Photography and marketing
The ski school may take photos or videos during lessons for marketing purposes. Participation in photo shoots is always voluntary, and in the case of minors, they are agreed upon with their guardians in advance.
Pictures and videos are only used for the marketing of the ski school, on the website, and on social media channels.
