Ski resort rules

At Serena Ski, the Finnish Ski Association’s contract terms for ski center services and the contract terms for equipment rental are followed. In addition, the slope safety instructions of the Finnish Ski Center Association are followed.

Rules

  • Make sure your equipment is adjusted to your size, weight and ability. Use of a helmet is recommended.
  • Respect the lift line and prepare to share the lift with fellow skiers. Meandering, pulling the anchor or other activities that endanger public safety are prohibited on the lift. Get off the lift only at designated areas. Snowboarders must remove their rear foot from the bindings before entering the lift.
  • If there is a queue for the ski lifts, those in ski school always have the right of way in the lift queue under the guidance of the skiing instructor.
  • Moving fences, mattresses or other equipment is prohibited.
  • Select the slope and adapt your speed according to your skills and the environment. Always familiarize yourself with special areas in advance. Skiing is only allowed on marked slopes.
  • Keep your distance when you pass the skiers below and ahead of you. Those coming from above and behind are always obliged dodge. Pay additional attention to small children.
  • Stop only at places where you can be easily seen. If you need to go uphill, always do it along the edge of the slope.
  • Do not ski too fast. Pay attention to local slope and snow conditions.
  • Sledging is only allowed in separately designated areas.
  • You always ski at your own risk.
  • Using the slopes under the influence of alcohol/drugs is prohibited. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. Minors may not use or possess tobacco products, including all nicotine and e-cigarette products and equipment, in the Serena area.
  • Eating your own snacks is not allowed inside our restaurants. You can eat your own snacks at the outdoor tables, in the outdoor hut, and also at the equipment rental office outside of peak hours, and taking other customers into account. It is forbidden to take glass bottles to the slope area.
  • Take care of cleanliness and always put garbage in the garbage bin.
  • In the event of accidents, your duty is to assist. Report any accidents immediately to ski area staff.

Always follow the signs and instructions of the staff. The staff has the right to remove the ski lift ticket from a person who does not follow the slope rules. Violation of the rules and instructions or disruptive behavior anywhere else in the Serena area will also result in removal from the ski center and cancellation of the ticket. In the case of a season pass holder, breaking the rules and instructions can result in the season ticket being invalidated either for a limited period or completely. In this case, the customer is not entitled to a refund for the price of the ticket/season pass.

Snowpark rules

  • Always familiarize yourself with the Street/Park in advance.
  • Make sure the landing area is free.
  • Stop only at places where you can be easily seen. Never stop in the landing hill.
  • Select the street according to your skills.
  • Consider the snow conditions and the environment.
  • Keep your distance when you pass the skiers below and ahead of you.

Insurance

  • Always take care of your own insurance cover yourself.
  • Please note that the insurance is not necessarily valid if you ski outside the marked slopes and routes.

Drones

  • The use of a drone requires a written permission to be obtained from the ski rental office in advance ([email protected]).
  • In Serena Ski, only lightweight drones (<250 g) are allowed, and from a proper distance only, not above the slopes or groups of people. It is allowed to take pictures from the view if there are people, as long as those people are not recognisable from the photos. Only people who have given a permission can be photographed closer.
  • Note! According to the EU regulation, you have to register when you fly a drone with a camera or some other sensor capable of recording personal data. More info from: droneinfo.
